What about sickness?

I've been thinking about sickness and health, and wondering how we know where we are on the continium.

Sometimes I take a mental health day because I feel as though if I don't take a day off, I will become sick. Is that real or just in my imagination?

There are people in the world, in China for instance, who never get a day off except once a year! Once a year for their annual holiday. Working every single day, not just 5 cays a week, and much longer hours too.

Plus they live where they work, in a dormitory at the factory and they eat the food provided by the factory.

They don't go out at night to acting class and rehearse with their singing group and take swimming lessons or yoga, or even visit the library or take a walk thru Stanley Park, or watch a DVD or play on the computer, or text their friends. They don't even get to phone home to their mothers.

All they do is work - making stuff for us to buy in the dollar store and Walmart. Cheaply.
After we work like, one minute, we can afford everything they make in their long dreary lives.

The difference between us and them is profound. It raises my gratitude level. Now I don't feel I need a day off to avoid illness. Nope. Now I just need a day off to enjoy my life, my freedom, my wealth and my health.

Now that's a good reason to take a mental health day.
