Is it STILL 2020?

Will this year ever end? Anyway....
I came thru my heart ablation surgery with flying colours. Dr Leather said it all went well and except for the extreme tiredness I felt these last 3 days, I feel really good. Last night was a 12 hour sleep marathon and today I feel pretty normal. Nice. And all at no more cost to me than my usual income taxes. I am so grateful to live in a place with health care for all. And good health care, too. I cannot even begin to imagine the cost of the surgery I just experienced. A ward full of nurses pre-op, about 6 people in the room (lab) where they performed the procedure, several more behind glass watching various computers and cameras and other fancy equipment, a giant camera and god knows what else in the room. Two hours it took, the doc said, and 5 hours of lying flat to recover from the surgery and the anaesthetic. Then to the hotel overnight and home the next day.
It does take a village however. My friend Suzanne drove me there and stayed with me two nights (first day was a cat scan, second day the procedure, third day we went home). And she has two dogs so Charlie came to my house to look after her dogs, my dogs and Charlie's dog and my poor little harassed cat, Robbie. Apparently Smudge took a "liking" to him and kept bugging him. Dumb cat doesn't know enough to give him a good swat or two across the muzzle, so it kept happening. Oh, well, at least he is non violent, which is kind of sweet in its own way.
And now I slept thru Thursday, much of Friday, and 12 hours overnight and here I am! "At the start of a moment", as they sing in the Come From Away musical. (The best musical ever, by the way. I cry anytime I hear more than one measure of some of its music. So powerful. People behaving the best they can as a response to people behaving the worst they can.)
I just sent the whole soundtrack to Yvette, as she has not seen the show yet.
I have no good ending today - so here's a cute picture of my cat, Robbie Coltrane.
