"Another gorgeous morning in paradise!" This is a standard greeting on our little Salt
Spring Island. It points out how lucky most of us feel to live here. Currently, the Covid crisis seems far away - no cases here that we know of! We are surrounded by beauty, and the ocean, and we all walk on incredible beaches and forest tails, and swim in clear warm lakes, and eat from our overflowing organic gardens. Yesterday morning a pod of Orcas wandered into my own Fulford Harbour, and I see Eagles every single day and every manner of songbird and woodpeckers. Hell, we don't even have skunks here in paradise - just racoons, mink and the ever-present huge population of island deer (smaller than your average deer so they all kinda remind you of Bambi.)

Yes, it's another gorgeous morning in paradise. I will partake of the beauty today and go for a forest walk this morning, and perhaps a beach walk later in the day when the sun is hotter. My dog enjoys swimming and fetching big sticks in the ocean! She gets pumped up when we hit the beach, just like any child would. It's delightful to witness.

I cut my thumb yesterday and it still hurts like heck so I am not sure if I can throw a pot on my borrowed pottery wheel or not, but I may just try and see.  Yesterday when I couldn't throw a pot, I painted a couple of abstract pictures instead. Quite satisfying also.

Time to check on my zucchini chips in the dehydrator (also borrowed). I tried two different kinds of zucchini- yellow and some very fat green ones. The green ones came out curly and the yellow are flat. Very crisp and a little bit sweet. Delicious. Quite a haul, eh?

Next up - some apple slices and yup, more zucchini. When you slice them thin in the food processor, you get a LOT of zucchini slices. So very thin apple slices (we will see how that turns out) and more green zucchini, some sprinkled with nutritional yeast for a different flavour.

Time sure gets away on me when I start doing these little projects. It's already 930 and I've been up two hours. Time for a nother walk in the garden to check on plants and flowers.

Another beautiful day in paradise.
